Straight Answers
Straight answers to the tree service questions St Petersburg homeowners ask us most: what work costs, when permits apply, and what to do about that tree you keep looking at. Do not see yours? Call or text (727) 492-6367 and ask; the answer is free.
Costs and Estimates
How much do tree services cost in St Petersburg?
Every job is different, which is why estimates are free and usually quoted on the spot. Tree removal depends on the tree's height, diameter, condition, and access; small jobs can run a few hundred dollars while large, complex removals can run a few thousand. Stump grinding depends on stump size and access. Text us a photo for a fast quote.
Are estimates really free?
Yes. Free estimates and consultations are how every job starts, with no obligation. Most customers get their number during the first visit.
Permits, Property, and Being Home
When is a permit required for tree work?
It depends on your municipality and the tree: size, location, hazard status, whether it is a street tree, and whether the species is invasive all factor in. We can point you in the right direction for your property. Details on the removal process live on our tree removal page.
Does someone need to be home while the crew works?
No. As long as the crew can access the work area, you do not have to be there. You get a spotless site either way.
Tree Health and Removal Decisions
How do I know whether to trim a tree or remove it?
That is exactly what a tree risk assessment answers. Our ISA certified arborists evaluate the tree's health and structure and recommend the least drastic fix that actually solves the problem: sometimes a trim, sometimes removal, sometimes nothing.
Can a tree right next to my house be saved?
Sometimes. Close does not automatically mean it must go; our arborists assess health first and tell you honestly whether it can be spared. When it does need to come down, sectional removal protects the house.
Stumps and Cleanup
What actually happens to the stump?
We grind it below grade so you can cover it with soil and replant. Chips stay as free mulch or get hauled away, your call. The full process is on our stump grinding page.
What does cleanup include?
Debris cleared and the site left the way customers describe in reviews: "like we were never there."
Storms and Emergencies
What should I do right after a tree comes down?
Keep people and pets clear, treat any downed line as live and call the utility first, and do not cut anything under tension yourself. Then call or text us a photo, any hour. More on our emergency tree service page.
